Roanoke, Virginia — Newly released body camera footage shows the June 25, 2020, Roanoke Police officer-involved shooting that led to the death of Rasheed Moorman. The shooting happened when an Officer saw two men who fit the descriptions of suspects from an earlier shooting, according to the police department. When backup arrived, police reported seeing Moorman, had a handgun in his right hand as he ran away. As the officer continued the pursuit, bodycam footage shows Moorman turning and firing at least four shots towards the officer, prompting the officer to return fire. According to the Police, Officers fired 10 shots at Moorman, three of the shots struck Moorman.
